our Location
Blue Zone Resort is located in a quiet area of Playa Avellanas, about 20 kms south of Tamarindo, just up the road from a small beach known locally as Playa Lagartillo.
The exact address of the lodge is 50m South and 125m East of Cabinas La Playa.

How To Arrive From Liberia Airport
Exit the airport, turn right and follow the signs towards Santa Cruz. Just before the bridge to enter into Santa Cruz, turn right and follow the signs to Playa Junquillal, Paraiso, and Playa Avellanas. Drive for 17kms on a paved road and then cross a bridge. Take the first left after the bridge, then turn right towards Paraiso, Playa Junquillal, and Playa Avellanas. After another 17 kms, you will reach the town of Paraiso. At the soccer field, turn right and then a slight left onto the first dirt road. Continue to follow the dirt road for 4kms.
You will pass by the town center of Playa Negra and by another soccer field. After the soccer field, it’s another 2.5 kms to the turn off towards the lodge. Look for the sign for Blue Zone Resort which will guide you all the way to the entrance of our lodge.
How To Arrive From San José Airport
Upon exit of the airport get on Autopista General Cañas/Carr Interamericana/Route 1. Continue on the Panamerican Highway 1 towards Liberia and take Highway 18 near Limonal towards Santa Cruz and Nicoya (across the Taiwan friendship bridge).
Pass through the town of Santa Cruz. Turn left at the bridge right after you pass through Santa Cruz and follow the signs to Playa Junquillal, Paraiso, and Playa Avellanas. Shuttles &Transfers
Don’t feel like renting a car and dealing with the hustle of driving in Costa Rica?
No Problem! Private and shared shuttles can be arranged from Liberia Airport, San Jose Airport and from a variety of other destinations around the country. Private shuttles from Liberia will set you back by $100/car. Private car from San Jose will cost around $260-280.
