Magical places for a unique experience
Blue Zone Resort is located in a quiet area of Playa Avellanas, about 20 kms south of Tamarindo, in Costa Rica’s Guanacaste Province. The lodge is off the beaten path, just up the road from a small beach known locally as Playa Lagartillo.
There are dirt roads all around us, some monkeys, some lizards, and the area is known mostly for great surfing, yoga and laid beach lifestyle.
Despite being remote, the lodge is close to some of Costa Rica’s best beaches for swimming, surfing, and soaking up some sunshine!
Playa Lagartillo
Located just 200m from the lodge, Playa Lagartillo is loved by locals but is rather unknown to tourists. Aside from a few times a year, the beach is practically deserted offering a quiet romantic setting for ideal for a small beachfront wedding or elopement.
Playa Negra
Located just 2km from our lodge, Playa Negra is one of Costa Rica’s most famous surf breaks. First popularized in the movie ‘Endless Summer’, this popular reef break is a must for avid surfers.
Playa Avellanas
Playa Avellanas is by far the most famous beach in the area. Located 1.5km from the lodge, this beach made popular by the famous beachside restaurant, Lola’s, is great for surfing, sunbathing or swimming. It’s a favourite with locals, visitors and is great for both families and individuals.
Playa Tamarindo
Tamarindo is one of the biggest tourist destinations in Costa Rica. It is located along the north pacific coast of the country and is well known for its surfing, shopping, restaurants and nightlife.
Blue Zone Resort is located a short 30-40 minute drive away.
